December 2024 - We can hardly believe it, but 2023 is already coming to a close! As we look to 202 we share with you, our community of partners and supporters, the work that you have made possible.
iCMLf Highlights of 2023 –
A year dedicated to global education, collaboration and research
iCMLf Global Educational Initiatives – sharing best practice
- The iCMLf Knowledge Centre continues to share best practice management of CML with physicians and scientists around the world. New modules on pediatric CML, pregnancy and CML and the management of advanced phase CML were developed.
- New iCMLf Regional Discussions on CML were held across Africa, Latin America and South Asia. These discussions connect leaders in the field with local physicians to address challenges of CML management specific to each area.
- Meetings in Mumbai, Kathmandu, at the John Goldman meeting and most recently at the American Society of Hematology meeting, brought CML experts together to learn, collaborate and share their latest research.
iCMLf Global Research Networks – optimising treatment
- The iCMLf Genomics Alliance in partnership with HARMONY-Plus is investigating the impact of genomic variation in CML on patient outcomes.
10 of 12 participating sites have completed data upload and initial analysis of the multinational data has begun.
- The iCMLf TFR Alliance partnership project with HARMONY-Plus will evaluate multiple factors that likely predict and influence successful treatment free remission for CML patients. The first data transfer was completed this year with 14 sites enrolled and over 2,500 datasets expected.
iCMLf Climb for a Cure Annapurna – supporting people with CML
- We made it! Our dedicated team of 24 supporters of the Foundation from around the world successfully climbed to Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130m.
- We’ve raised over $200,000 to improve outcomes for people with CML all around the world. You can still donate to the iCMLf Climb for a Cure and all donations, whether big or small, will make a difference.
