The Max Foundation

For the past 10 years The Max Foundation has provided services to CML patients in need of access to treatment and support in more than 100 countries. The organization operates through a network of locally based advocates and through close relationships with key opinion leaders in CML, plus more than 1,000 physicians treating CML in developing countries. Every year The Max Foundation provides services to more than 22,000 CML patients.

The Max Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of people living with blood cancer and rare cancers worldwide. The organization has three major initiatives:
  • An international patient helpline to extend support to patients in urgent need of care;
  • The development of partnerships with key stakeholders to foster access to treatment in developing countries;
  • A community development initiative, to establish patient groups and patient organizations with the aim of providing services to CML patients locally.
The Max Foundation is a partner in the administration of the Glivec International Patient Assistance Program (GIPAP) as well as a key element of other treatment access programs. The organization has been instrumental in the development of more than ten patient associations in targeted countries.
