Building on the success of Climb for a Cure: Kilimanjaro (2019) and Annapurna (2023) - which together raised over $500,000 for CML research - the iCMLf is thrilled to announce the next chapter: Climb for a Cure 2026.

In February 2026, we will take on the Avenue of Volcanoes in Ecuador - a breathtaking high-altitude challenge through one of the most stunning landscapes in the world. Over seven days, participants will trek through Cotopaxi National Park, climb to awe-inspiring viewpoints, and push their limits alongside a passionate team of researchers, doctors, patients, and CML advocates - all united by a single goal: drive progress in CML research, treatment, and patient care.

This is more than just a climb. It’s a commitment to change lives.

Your journey begins in Quito, Ecuador’s historic capital (2,850m), where you will acclimatise and explore the city’s rich heritage before heading into the wild. Over the following days, you will:

  • Trek through Pasochoa Volcano Reserve
  • Push your limits as you summit Pasochoa (4,200m) for breathtaking views of Cayambe, Antisana, and Cotopaxi.
  • Follow ancient trails along the Rio Pita, surrounded by majestic Andean landscapes.
  • Choose your ultimate challenge:
    • Hike to the Manantial natural spring deep within Cotopaxi National Park.
    • Summit the legendary Rumiñahui Volcano (4,631m), traversing wild, rugged terrain.
  • Celebrate your achievement with a final push along the flanks of Cotopaxi Volcano, before a well-deserved celebration dinner with your team.

This is not just a trek - it’s an opportunity to challenge yourself physically and mentally, connect with a global community, and play a direct role in accelerating life-changing CML research.
