The list of abstracts from the 15th International Conference on CML: Biology and Therapy that took place in Estoril, Portugal, from September 26-29, 2013 is now available for download.
The conference, co-sponsored by the iCMLf and the European School of Haematology (ESH) focused on the latest findings on biology and clinical research and current therapeutic approaches. Over 540 people from 43 different countries attended this premier CML meeting.
We are delighted that over 100 physicians from 21 countries attended this year´s iCMLf Forum for Physicians from Emerging Economic Regions. This annual event is held during the American Society of Hematology meeting.
The 15th International Conference on CML: Biology and Therapy took place in Estoril,
Portugal, from September 26-29, 2013. This leading international CML meeting was again co-sponsored by the iCMLf and the European School of Haematology (ESH). The conference being chaired by John M Goldman (UK), J. Cortes and Timothy P. Hughes (Australia) again focused on the latest up-dates on biology and clinical research and current therapeutic approaches.
The iCMLf was pleased to support the second CML Africa meeting held in Durban on the 20th November. “CML Africa meeting 2013”, was a training workshop on CML for healthcare professionals from the African continent. Training was organised by the MAX Foundation and supported by Novartis Oncology, the iCMLf and other sponsors.
CML Africa enables collaboration, training and networking between leading CML researchers in the US and their African counterparts. The workshop was designed as a satellite session of the African Organization for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC) conference. International delegates from 20 African countries attended the meeting, among them regional CML clinicians, local healthcare professionals and representatives of patient organizations.
This year’s CML Africa meeting provided information and training on the use of new tyrosine kinase inhibitors to improve the management of CML patients in Africa. The program included specific presentations and Q&A sessions on drug application, switching therapy, monitoring of residual disease as well managing pregnancy for CML patients.
