ERSAP Clinical Preceptorship Program 2014 open for applications
The Emerging Regions Support and Partnership (ERSAP) Clinical Preceptorship Program 2014 is now open for applications. The intention of this educational program is to enhance the knowledge of physicians treating patients with CML in emerging regions. Preceptorships combine practical experience, one-to-one tuition, seminars and laboratory work.
This iCMLf clinical preceptorship program offers preceptorships for up to 30 haematologists from emerging economic countries in 2014. There will be at least eleven centres of excellence hosting visitors, each accepting up to four clinicians.
Preceptorships will last from three to four weeks and are available in English, French, Italian, Russian and Spanish speaking centres.
Topics covered include:
- therapies to treat CML; efficacy, toxicity and the management of side effects
- monitoring guidelines
- management of resistance
- role of allograft in CML
- developments in novel therapies, vaccines and drug cessation
Applicants are asked to complete the application form and to send the completed form to melissa@cml-foundation.org along with a copy of their Curriculum Vitae and a letter from their hospital, or department supporting the application to the preceptorship program.
The applications will be reviewed by the iCMLf Directors who select hematologists for the program whose attendance is expected to provide most benefit for the CML community. Candidates should have a special interest in CML management and be able to demonstrate their ability to apply and disseminate knowledge gained in the program. Selected applicants will be matched with the most appropriate host site according to location, timing and individual needs.
The first intake of applications will close on December 16, 2013. Applications received after this date will be reviewed if additional preceptorship places become available.
